Receipt collection for GitHub

Cardboard automates the collection of receipts for payments made through Cardboard, so you don't have to collect the receipts yourself. GitHub only sends receipts by email to customers on their team plan.

Receipt collection with email

GitHub only sends receipts by email to customers on their team plan.

If you are on a team plan, all you need to do to automate the receipt collection is to add the Cardboard subscription's receipt collection email address as the billing email in the service.

Some services support multiple cards but only one billing email. In those cases, set the billing email to your general Cardboard email address.

If you are on a personal plan, you can either use the Cardboard browser extension or set up automatic email forwarding to Cardboard. See the guide for your email provider to learn how to set it up:

Receipt fetching with browser extension

The Cardboard browser extension can upload the receipts for this service.

All you need to do is go to the page where you can download or view the receipts. The extension will let you know which of the receipts are missing from Cardboard and you can upload them in one click.

Since GitHub has different billing URLs for different accounts Cardboard stores the urls on your subscription. This enables the extension to take you directly to the right page after you have done the first upload.

The Cardboard browser extension is only available for Chrome- and Firefox-based browsers.
