Cardboard Pulse

A privacy-first usage insights tool

Right now, your software stack is under stress.

There's probably software in your stack that nobody's using. You know it's there. A subscription here, a few unused seats there, all quietly costing money every month while nobody notices.

The annoying part is that most tools that promise to find these zombie subscriptions want access to everything. URLs, timestamps, browsing habits. The full works.

That always felt like overkill to us. You don't need a full-body scan when all you're looking for is a pulse.

Meet Pulse.

Pulse is Cardboard's privacy-first usage insights tool. Cardboard's lightweight browser extension helps you figure out which subscriptions your team is actually using — and which ones are just sitting there, costing money.

We're not looking at what your team does online. We just want to help you spot the stuff nobody's using so you can do something about it.

That's genuinely it.

We built the privacy bit first. Everything else came after.

A lot of usage-tracking tools try to collect as much as possible and then promise to be careful with it. We'd rather just… not collect it in the first place. Here's what that looks like in practice:

Client-side filtering

Only data relevant to your tracked subscriptions ever leaves the browser. Everything else gets ignored before it goes anywhere.

Client-side masking

Before anything is sent, Pulse strips it down to the bare minimum. No exact URLs. No timestamps. No session durations. Just the essentials.

Curated exclusions

Personal stuff stays personal. Health services, LinkedIn, anything with no legitimate business reason to track, it's all off-limits. Automatically.

Know your real software spend

Spot unused licenses and see what you're actually spending on software. No guesswork. No spreadsheet archaeology.

What we don't collect

No exact URLs. No timestamps. No session durations. No browsing history. No data on other subscriptions. Basically, nothing your employees would be uncomfortable with.

How it works

Install

Roll out the Cardboard browser extension to your team. Employees opt in because consent matters.

Check

Pulse quietly checks which tracked subscriptions are being used. Everything is filtered, masked, and minimized before it leaves your browser.

Get clarity

See which subscriptions are unused. Cancel them, reallocate them, or finally settle that argument about whether anyone actually uses that project management tool.

Stop guessing. Start knowing.

With Pulse, you finally get answers to the questions you've been struggling with:

  • See which tools are actually being used (without watching how)
  • Spot unused licenses draining your budget
  • Know your real SaaS spend at a glance
  • Keep privacy first, always

Your SaaS stack is the heart of your company, and it's worth checking its health. Because your money should go toward building the future, not funding unused subscriptions.
