Collect receipts from Facebook Ads

This article guides you through changing your billing email in Facebook Ads with Carboard's Facebook-specific collection email addresses.

For payments by card

Find your receipt collection email address in Cardboard

1. Find your Facebook Ads subscription in the Subscriptions list.
2. In the Receipt collection section, find your Facebook Ads-specific receipt collection email.

Update the account contact email in Facebook Ads

1. In Facebook's Ads Manager, navigate to the Ad account settings > Ad account setup.
2. Navigate to Ad account contact > Edit email.
3. Enter your receipt collection email address as the billing email on the Edit billing information screen and click Save changes.

Confirm the new ad contact email

Facebook will send you a confirmation email to verify the new email. You can find this email in Cardboard.

1. Navigate to Inbox > Emails.
2. Open the email sent by Facebook titled "Confirm email address for ad notifications".
3. Press the "Enable receipt collection" button in order to be sent to Facebook and confirm the email.

You are all set! You will now receive emails titled "Your Meta ads receipt (Account ID: …)" which are automatically promoted to receipts and matched with the correct payment for accounting purposes.

For payments by invoice

This section guides you through changing your billing email in Facebook Ads with Carboard's Facebook-specific collection email addresses in case of invoices.

This only works if your business is set up for monthly invoicing, in which case, you can designate email addresses to receive your invoices at the Business Manager level and ad account level. This may be a helpful option if you work with an agency or partner who manages your ads.

Find your receipt collection email address in Cardboard

1. Find your Facebook Ads subscription in the Subscriptions list.
2. In the Receipt collection section, find your Facebook Ads-specific receipt collection email.

Update the billing email in Facebook Ads Business Manager

Facebook has an help center article about how to change the email address used for invoices.

1. In your Business Manager, navigate to the settings for billing and payments.
2. In the Payment methods section, click the three dots next to the credit line.
3. Enter your Cardboard receipt collection email in the billing email on the Edit billing information screen and click Save changes.
4. Ensure that all Facebook Ads billing notifications are directed to this email.
